Kappa Sigma Epsilon-Iota currently resides on the Fraternity Row facility provided by San Diego State at 5565 Aztec Walk. Kappa Sigma is within walking distance of both the gym and Cox Arena, home of not only San Diego State Aztec baskteball games, but also many concert and entertainment venues. Kappa Sigma is also on campus, making the walk to class not a difficult one.
Apartments
The Fraternity Row facility houses eight different fraternities, with Kappa Sigma not only being the biggest with numbers, but also the biggest house on Fraternity Row. Each house is given the chapter area, a courtyard (in our case, two courtyards), and 8 different apartments, two on each floor. Each apartment comes with a living room, a kitchen, a bathroom, complete with two toilets and either one or two showers, two regular bedrooms, and one master bedroom. Usually the master bedroom is split between two people. The apartments also come with a balcony looking into the courtyard. Reaching up four stories, the apartments provide optimal living conditions for up to 32 brothers at a time.
Chapter Hall
Across the courtyard from the apartments is the chapter hall area. Downstairs comes complete with a multi-purpose room, perfect for meetings, hanging out, and parties, and a chapter room designed to provide the chapter's visitors and alumni easy access to not only the history of Epsilon-Iota, but over 50 years of brotherhood as well.
Upstairs is a bigger apartment and the study room. The living area of the upstairs apartment, where our Executive Committe lives, is twice as large as a regular apartment's living area, and there are three bedrooms and one master bedroom. The EC, as we call it, is not only where the Executive Committe lives, it is also the main area for partying, hanging out, and day to day activities for many members of the house. The study room, adjacent to the EC, is perfect for brothers who want to study but don't want to walk to the library. Quiet at all times, the study room has a large conference table and seating for up to 12 people who want a quiet place to finish their schoolwork.
Courtyards
Kappa Sigma is the only house on Fraternity Row with two courtyards. The bigger one, surrounded by the apartments and the chapter hall, is the main area for many venues. For parties, it is the center of attention. For important house meetings, it is where the brothers sit and eat dinner. But day to day, it is where all members of the house hang out and have a good time. Adjacent to the larger courtyard, the smaller courtyard has been converted to a basketball court, but still is used for parties.
